Gooseberry Falls Wedding | Neil and Sarah

sarah and neil blog 2 41.jpg

Well, here we are.  The last wedding of my season.  For those of you who do not know, I only work with ten couples per year for their wedding.  Neil and Sarah made me sad that this year was coming to a close.

It is hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, it was 90 degrees out!  I feel like we skipped over fall and went straight from summer to winter, this year!

I knew at their engagement session that this wedding was going to be special.  Both Neil and Sarah are pretty soft spoken, but their love for each other is hard to keep quiet.  They chose to have a small, family oriented wedding, which happen to be my favorite.  They wrote letters to each other, and were a little worried as to when they would have time to exchange them.  Part of a photographer's duty at a wedding, is logistics, so I came to the rescue.

We have switched up the way we do first looks this year, so I set them up back to back to read their letters, prior to seeing each other.  To build their excitement even more, I told them to close their eyes, turn around to face each other and say a little prayer for their wedding and marriage.  It was such a quiet, powerful, and beautiful moment of the day!

Ben and Katelynn's end of summer wedding at Lutsen Resort

Ben and Kate Blog 17.jpg

I'm not sure that I have the right words for Ben and Katelynn, and I mean that in the best way possible.  From the beginning, they were a dream to work with... so sweet, kind, funny... and best of all, they were not afraid to show their love.  Not just for each other, but for their friends and family.  Just being around them, you can tell that they hold those that they love so tight.  I'm sad that their wedding is over.... I feel like I could happily relive that day over and over again.

Duluth Cathedral and Harborside Ballroom Wedding | Mike and Meghan

mike and meghan wedding 25.jpg

It rained ALLLLLLL day....

"Rain is just confetti from the sky".... and Mike and Meghan had a whole lot of confetti.  Thankfully they had FABULOUS locations for their wedding, so for most of the day, we were able to stay comfortably dry :).

Mike and Meghan are a really fun couple who hold their loved ones close.  They served craft brew from their home towns, and they roasted their wedding party AND each other at the reception.  It goes to show, that just like their grandparents said, laughter is the key to marriage.

I just love these two so much, and their families!  Congratulations you two!
